Nearly every part in the store is also sold as an STL print file. Same model we run on our own machines, downloaded the minute you pay. Whether that is the better buy depends on how many you need and what you are printing with.

Buy the file when

You need more than three or four of something. A fleet of trucks, a row of tractors, a dozen fly traps. The file is a one time cost, and PETG runs a couple dollars a part. You already own a printer that runs PETG reliably and you are comfortable with your settings. You want a color we do not stock.

Buy the part when

You need one and you need it this week. Most orders print and ship in 2 business days, and a first attempt on an unfamiliar printer takes longer than that once you count the failed prints. You do not print PETG. A PLA version of most of our parts will sag in a hot cab, and we would rather you not find that out with our name on it. The part has magnets or springs in it. The printed part comes assembled; the file comes with a shopping list.

What the file license covers

The STL is for your own equipment. Print as many as you need for your trucks, your tractors and your shop. It does not cover selling prints of it or sharing the file. If you want to sell our designs, talk to us about wholesale instead.

Settings

PETG, 0.2 mm layers, 3 or 4 walls, 20 percent infill unless the product page says otherwise. Print the part in the orientation it downloads in. More on why PETG in this post.
